Stay away at busy times

The service was so slow.. i would never recommend coming here on at Saturday night like we did.. the food was average at best... we kept getting the wrong drinks which my party found frustrating especially after waiting 35 mins for them..

I will never visit again

I was very disappointed with food I had the turkey off the special board and it was the worst turkey I have ever had the sprouts where undercooked the parsnips where hard and the roast potatoes where hard I got a little pot of gravy which was tasteless the pig in blankets where pink and a little ring of stuffing it all was disgusting and I wasn't the only one who complained about there food around the table one even complained that much they got there money back im not one too complain so didn't

Never ever have a meal here!

We ordered prawn and smoked salmon cocktail, which at £18:95 seemed a little expensive. What it comprised of was a small piece of smoked salmon and about 8 baby shrimps. ( Prawns they were not and even calling them shrimps would be a stretch.) All on a bed of lettuce. The chips that came with the main course were half cooked, tasteless and difficult to swallow. The linguine had almost the equivalent of two sliced chilli peppers hidden it which completely took away the delicate flavour of the crab

Worst service I’ve ever experienced

I’m surprised there are not more terrible reviews given that half the tables there left before dessert and many were asking for refunds. At £65 a head you’d expect good food and good service, the food was good, but the service was so disorganised. Some people didn’t even have tables when they arrived. Each course took around an hour or more to be served and cleared. A four course meal took 4 and a quarter hours. People were starving and complaining.

A disappointing night away from home.

When I arrived the reception staff were abrupt and unwelcoming. The room was adequate although the pillows were awful. For a room costing over £200 I would say it was barely worth a quarter of that. I will not be returning. Oh and the advertised bath products were tiny. Don’t try to order a la carte at breakfast as you can’t. What you can do is order the fixed options without various of the things!!!!

Friendly local pub

Had a great afternoon here with friends , nice decor friendly locals and a few well behaved dogs. On our way to Blackburn just stopped off for one but ended up staying longer , very nice comfortable pub worth a visit.

Poor food and service so very Thwaites

We booked a meal on Sunday 14th May for a friends birthday. We all ordered our meals and then ordered drinks. The men ordered blonde beer only to be told it was off and they would have to wait. I ordered a a 5 been chilli. When it came it was cold and dry I sent it back only to receive the same meal back with some greenery on top.

Home cooked food at its best

This is a lovely little pub, with lovely home cooked food. The menu has plenty for everyone, and there is a specials board each day. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. . Whilst there is a large car park across road, it can be a bit tricky crossing the road at bust times.

Would not recommend to anyone!

Booked a family meal for my sons birthday yesterday, what a disappointment. Some of the choices that our family ordered had run out, bearing in mind it was only 4.30pm, then some of the meals were under cooked. Next was the sweet course, no chocolate ice cream, someone ordered the lemon sorbet cheese cake and guess what no lemon sorbet left also they had run out of baileys for our coffee. It was a very disappointing evening and would never go again.

Won't be back!

Booked a table here a week prior for the first time available, 5pm. Bearing in mind I have a child that needs to do the whole routine for school, we walk in at 4:51pm to be told that it will be at least 15-20 minutes before we get our table. The poor waitress was apologetic, but the manager was not and the girl who told us the bad news at the till couldn’t care less . We used to visit this pub regularly, but this is the second time in a row we’ve had an issue with them.
